What a wonderful holiday we had, although it is so good to be home. We started our holiday in London where what little family I have , live there. The weather was cold and wet so thank goodness I took a rain coat and some jerseys. We then went to Brussels to stay a long weekend with my stepson, he spoilt us to death and we nearly wore our feet to the bone with so much walking and sightseeing. My DH then went to Munich to visit his family while I went to southern Italy to spend time with my daughter and family. On my second evening in Italy I had to get up during the night and promptly got my foot entangled in a long curtain and fell down some stone stairs. I hit my head on an old coal stove, splitting my forehead open. My SIL took me straight to the local Government hospital where they put in 11 stitches and kept me in over night. (This morning I have been to my own doctor who is concerned as she thinks I am going to be left with a nasty scar. I am due to have X rays on my skull and cheek this afternoon.) I have been in no real pain apart from most of my body being bruised. DH and step son joined me a few days later in Italy. Luckily my injury did not stop us from having a wonderful time in Italy. Our last 2 days were spent in Naples - not a place I would visit again. I hated the filth in the streets but most of all the drivers there. I am sure they are all quite mad. I was amazed that we returned our hired car without a scratch on it!!! Our journey back home to South Africa was a bit lengthy due to a huge hold up in Dubai because of fog. I am just so pleased to be home safe and relatively sound. Hugs to all Sarah.

Sarah good to hear that you are safe at home now. What a luck you did not test the health-system in every country of your journey ;o)
Hope you had a wonderful time in Italy even with your injury. Let your hubby spoil you and take a long quiet time...
Greetings, Bettina

Sarah, I am so happy you had time to spend with family - so concerned that you injured yourself and might have a scar from it. Was it too much wine or just not familiar with your surrounding? Hehehe! I am just kidding. It is always so wonderful to return from a Holiday, they say. I am glad you are home and safe, now.

Thank you Shirlene. I cannot even blame the wine as I had not had any. LOL.

Glad to hear you are back home. It sounds as though your vacation was on the intersting side. Lots of adventure for you. Hope you do not end up with a scar. Hugs, Mary

Thank you Mary. If the scar is bad I will have plastic surgery to remove it.

Hi Sarah ! Nice to have you back. It is nice to go on holiday, but also nice to come back home, isn't it. What a pitty we couldn't meet. Anyway I hope the scar will heal properly. Take care. Linda

Are you sure you went on a vacation and not a wild adventure. :) When they take the stitches out and it has healed for a few days start rubbing some Vit E oil on it. (Some places you can buy the oil others you have to cut capsules and squeeze it out.) The rubbing the oil in helps breakdown scar tissue. I have seen it do wonders. Hope this is all it takes and you won't need plastic surgery.

Hope with all your adventure that you still had a wonderful vacation. How long will it be before you get to see your daughter & family and your step-son again? Hope not long. I remember how cute your g-kids were in some of the photos you shared.

Thank you for advice. My doc here at home says I am to put nothing on it at the moment. I will see my daughter and family in Oct when they are back from Italy and my stepson at Christmas. Sarah.
