Do you name your things? I haven't figured out a good name for my machine yet - maybe Lucy.... Suzy...... What are some good sewing machine names?

Sewing machine, embroidery machine, serger. LOL

When they act up I usually call them "stupid machine."

I have a Viking Diamond...and I named her Jewelia. I have 3 older Kenmores...so they are Kenny 1, 2 and 3. I have an oooold White treadle machine that I called Mrs. White. The sergers (I have 3) and one more Singer treadle I just inherited haven't been named...yet. Now I'll have to think about it. It's a large sewing family I have.

I have named all my cars since they have "personalities" and some have been downright tempermental lol but I haven't really named my sewing machines. Although, like another Cutie, I do sometimes call one of them "stupid machine" my serger is my "expensive machine" and one gets called loving and nice names like "beauty" or "wonderful" or "amazing". One machine gets called names like "old" and "workhorse" but no regular given names.

My names usualy come from the songs that play in my head. My Singer embroidery machine's name is Pearl. From the song by Elke Brooks. "Pearl's a singer, she stands up when she plays the piano"..... I never sit in front of Pearl, usually just stand watching and checking, so it sorta seems right. My new sewing machine, also a singer is Lady Madonna, from the Beatles' lyrics and yes I do think money is heaven sent :) and I bought her with total disregard for once to the bills that needed paying. Seems an appropriate name for her. Hugs to you all and you babies, Christine, Johannesburg

My Designer 1 is Daisy (my favorite flower) and my Designer Diamond is, of course, Diamond Lil, or Lil for short. Still haven't named my HV 936 serger. They may be inanimate, but we do spend lots of time with them and talk to them and they talk back at times so it's only natural (to me anyway) that we should name them! Hugs. Nan W

I haven't named mine, just call them "my baby" and my serger. Might do so later.
I used to work with a lady that called any kind of equipment FRED (F. Rediculous Electronic Device) as machines didn't seem to like her, so she would just say "that stupid FRED - he's not cooperating!".

So far I didn't give it a name. My dishwasher's name is "James" and we have a'virtual dog' named "blacky" who always seems to replace things so we never can't find them where we thoughed we left them behind.

My machines usually feel my "love" (when they are stitching fine), so no need to get personal with them. BUT, now let them act up, then their names come out in a split second, "Gosh Dang It", "Aw Poop", or "Oh Sh_t"!!! LOL (Sorry, Jan,just couldn't resist!)
Hugs,
Angel
