Hello everyone ! I have been reading posts about illness in our Cute family and my heart goes out to all.
I had a little scare yesterday. I made a trip to the VA hospital unexpectedly.
I thought it was a cold sore on my lower lip but boy was I wrong! Not only did my lip swell to 3x it's size the pain was excruciating! It went from my jaw to my ear and down my neck. I was asked to come in so they could see it.
Turns out it was a spider bite, not one but 3 ! I am now on steroids for allergic reaction and antibiotics for the infection.
It happened sometime in my sleep.

Thank you Dolly. It happened about 4 days ago while I slept. My lip was sore but progressively got more swollen and extremely painful. I am glad my DH suggested to see a DR.
I am better today, but have a way to go yet.

Oh my Bonnie - I hope you spray for those spiders - you must have really been scared - when you found out that you had been bitten 3 times on your face. That just curdes my blood to think about. I am glad you went and got treatment.

Thank you Shirleen. I just thought it was a cold sore, but I don't get them. When the pain got so unbearable yesterday I really did not know what to do. DH said that I should go. I am glad he did!
We have an exterminator who had come twice in the last month. We are calling them again on Monday!

Bonnie I am so glad you went on to Dr. One summer when I was a summer camp nurse I had a patient who was bitten by a spider. If left on their own they can get very very bad. Her family wouldn't take her to the Dr., (she was a teenager and didn't want to go) Well it got very, very bad and finally I had her taken to the ER. /Lillian

So glad that you got treatment! My daughter was bitten by a brown recluse spider on her calf, and now has a dark brown scar that is about the size of a quarter. SHe thought it was a mosquito bite at first. I wish we had thought about a spider bite earlier. Take all those antibiotics--you want to wipe that out completely!! Take care.

Goodness I am glad you got treatment my brother was bitten on the back of his thigh by a black widow and he had to be put in the hospital and given anti venom shots I am praying for you do what you can to get rid of the spiders take care...

Oh Wow, Bonnie! That is a terrible surprise! three spider bites! Do you have any idea what kind of spider? I'm so very glad you found out and are being treated! I'll pray for your healing :-) gentle hugs, Jan no kissing for a while!

OUCH!!!!! I am so glad you went to the Dr. As many have said - they can be wicked. Glad you got an exterminator in to spray. You may have to have them back several times. I'm afraid it is going to be a bad year for spiders and bugs in general. Her in Kansas we did not have a hard enough winter to kill off bugs of any kind. Keep taking those antibiotics, and when they are all gone - if you are still swollen and/or hurting go back to the Dr. Hope you get well soon.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is Sunday the 10th of June and I am on the mend. I still have a painful area on my lip. I think it will be there a while.
