Well the lilacs are in full bloom here and every year at this time my mind wonders back to the seasons of my youth(remember the song??) ,to a time when i used to sit out on the veranda but we called it Granada were my Aunt Etta and i would sit just smelling or breathing in the wonderful smell.

Anyways my Aunt is long gone but her daughter Joan is in her late seventies now and i am sure she is sitting out there smelling these just as i am :):)
So i asked Vicki if she could make me some coasters with this tree on it so i can get them made and in the mail for Monday morning and off to her and she sooooooooo kindly did .I think she did a great job don't you ?? hugs

They are lovely. I don't know many people with the name Etta, but that's my first name! I was named for my Dad's Mother. What wonderful memories you have of your Aunt Etta!

Great stitchout, Carolyn...I like the different color palettes....my neighbor has a lilac bush outside my office window, so I just kept popping up to look at it while I was doing this and just added a trunk to make it a tree....

Lovely looking coasters. I love lilacs have 3 old fashion ones and they fill the air with their wonderful fragrance. Not long after the Mock oranges and then my lavender and honeysuckles. I love the springtime fragrances. These made me think would be nice as sachets also. Very pretty designs!

The memory pathways are some of my favorite to travel. Smells are some of our strongest memories too. You two have done a wonderful job of creating that here. Hats off to both of you!!!

My daughter and I love lilacs also. We travelled to Hamilton, Ontario where there is a huuuuge lilac place (not sure what you call it) but it has hundreds of varieties blooming in a long season. A bit of heaven on earth I think. Brings back great memories.

Beautiful job Vicki and Carolyn!
I am always sad when the lilacs fade. When they are in full bloom, I sit near them and the fragrance brings peace to my soul. I wish I could get them to bloom again just like a rose.
Will these be shared designs either free or for purchase? I would love to do one for my ailing and aged Grandmother. I MIGHT even do one for myself.

I love lilacs too. I used to have some in my front yard where I used to live quite some time ago. As soon as they were blooming I always had a few in the house so we could smell them longer and also make the inside smell nice.
Good job on the coaster
