I am new to embroidery and was wondering what is the best editing program that is best for beginners? Also any tips that you can give me would be so greatly appreciated. TIA, Carol

Carol, Welcome to the CUTE family - we were wonderfing when you might show up. What sort of embroidery machine do you have - you surely were advised by the dealership that you would need to have a program to support your machine - usually they have one that will work best with the machine that you bought.
I have a Babylock Ellegante2 - but before that - I owned a Babylock Ellure and I was adviced to buy the Palette Program, which has editing and design features and a card and card reader for my machine - I use then still with my new model machine. I do have other programs that I have installed on my PC - but are not necessarily something that works with my machine so much as they allow me to do things that my Palette Program doesn't.
Give us some more infor - perhaps we can help you better, if this didn't help.

I use Embird Basic for editing. Lets you change colors, resize, print, move parts around, etc. Works very well for me.
NOTE: Editing is different from digitizing - Basic does not let you make your own designs, only play with existing designs.

thanks! I know I am no where near ready to make my own designs, but I definitely will check out Embrid Basic. :)
It's such a pity I did not save the tutorial on did on getting the most out of Editor, you would be amazed what you could achieve with it, with patience and knowledge. You can actually, almost, digitise in Editor (in a fashion) The only thing is that it is one stitch at a time, but really rewarding.

I have Buzz Edit.. I have all of the Buzz Tools. I don't do a lot with it I have not learned to digitize. I do use it to put together alpha's if I don't use Buzzword. What program do you use for your file storage?? Does it have an editing program?

A hearty welcome to you Carol. Like you I have the Ellegante 2 and love it, also had the Ellegante 1. Listen carefully, or read to all that is said and decide what is best for you. I agree with Meg, I have Embird and have had it now about 7 yrs. I love it. Cute is the place for answers for everything and I hope you enjoy your time spent with us./Lillian
