SEWING QUESTION??? Does anybody know how to make an easy gentle scalloped edge? I want to do a wall hanging with just front, batting & backing. sew insideout, turn & hand stitch the opening - cause this is what I know how to do. Any ideas please?? Lyn. xx

Yes, if you want to make a gentle scallop use a small saucer (a child's tea set is ideal). Use half if using a normal one. Good luck love and blessings Chris

I too, was going to suggest a small saucer, a CD, or a large bottle cap. Good luck and hope you share your finished item in PROJECTS soon.

besides these tutorials there is another scallop tool - that I can't locate - but you use it for cutting and then for ironing after. I just can't think of the name of it or who makes it.

Here is my easy tip for scallop template to fit any size:
Cut a paper strip the exact size of the fabric edge.
Fold strip up evenly to make as many scallops as you wish eg, 3 or 5 or8.
Using some rounded object draw a curve and cut the folded paper.
Open the paper and you have your temlate of scallops that will fit across your fabric.
Happy stitching!
Hugs Bev

Thanks Bev. I worked out I was doing the scallops too deep & making it pucker when turned out. With the template I found it was easy. xx
