For all who believe in prayer, please can I call on you to pray for my dad. He fell down a flight of concrete stairs. His head hit the edge of the stair and his skull is cracked open, exposing his brain. They are so worried about infection. He has also broken the L5 vertebra and his elbow. The muscles have also ripped. He is 79 years old and a diabetic. At the Private Clinic in South Africa, his care is less than satisfactory. He is unable to move and his food is left behind him where he cannot see it or get to it in his condition. The nurses will not help him and take the food away. He is supposed to eat small meals frequently, being a diabetic. There are blood soaked bandages on the floor. When they heard the doctor was coming earlier than expected, they had to quickly clean up the blood on the drips and pick up used needles. It is shocking. The little bit of fluid in the drip was red as the blood was travelling backwards into the drip. He has MANY months of pain ahead of him, but the skull injury is life threatening. Please pray for him.

I stopped and prayed immediately after reading this. How awful for you to know that he isn't being properly cared for. Are you staying with him? Could someone take pictures of the way things are being left around and help him with his food? I would should the administration the poor conditions and see if I couldn't get something done. Bless your poor heart. We need to pray an angel wall to surround him.

If he is in a private clinic here in South Africa, and not in Goverment Hospital, you should take some photo's and lay a complaint at the Clinic Manager. Please do that, because you are paying for the service. I will pray for your whole fameily and for your dad. Hugs Marie

Prayers being said at this very moment for your dad and you!! Such a sad situation of the seriousness of his injury and medical needs, plus the inept care he is receiving, too! I would have to be near his bedside enough to insure he got what he needs. I hope that is a possibility for you, as well as documenting poor treatment, pictures of it, etc., as someone else mentioned!
Hugs,
Angel

Thank you all for your concern and prayers. I live in Australia and my family is in South Africa. My sister is trying to follow up with the cleanliness issues, but it all falls on deaf ears. Between her and my mother, they are trying to stay with him to feed him and massage his legs to keep the circulation going. They have not fitted him with the elastic stockings to prevent clots, and nor do they have massaging equipment fitted to his legs. Again, thank you for your prayers.

Oh Coral, I am so sorry to hear about this and am so thankful that here in the states we have much better medical care in most places. I hope they take better care of him and he recovers from this. Hugs to you and best wishes to your Dad that he heals and gets better soon!

OH Olly, I just found this message and my heart goes out to you and your family. It must be so gut wrenching for you, being so far away and unable to be there with your Dad. I know things have improved slightly since this post but I will pray my heart out for your Dad's full recovery. I am so very sorry and sad for you all.
If I can come down and keep you company for a day, please let me know, I am free on Thursday and Friday.
Sending Angels and prayers
love and blessings, Meg

Hi Meg - I have just found this post. Thank you so much for your concern and prayers. Thanks for offering to spend the day with me - very kind of you. The cuties are a wonderful bunch of people. I have just come home from canteen duty - spent the day at the footy field - from 8.30am until 3.15pm. Tomorrow i am visiting a friend in hospice - probably for the last time. I will see you soon though, I am sure of it.

Dear Coral, I pray that your Dad has improved over the past few days. It's such a shame that you can't be there with him. It's hard to believe that the conditions there are so lax. I hope and pray that the conditions will improve. I also pray for those nurses and doctors that they will help him recover quickly. Love and blessings Chris

I will pray for your dad and your family.
Is there someone you can talk to about the conditions he has to endure ?
I am not familiar with the hospital and clinics in South Africa.

Extra warm hugs and prayers, Bonnie
