Yesterday my mom went to visit and my dad was gray in colour and in so much pain. He actually nearly passed out. You will not believe it - They lifted him up and made him try to STAND while they made the bed!!!!! He has a broken back bone!!!!!! The wounds also starting bleeding profusely again. When the doctor heard this he was FURIOUS. He went out and ordered them to make place in the Intensive Care Unit for him, so hopefully he will have better care. He lost so much blood that he needed an urgent transfusion. The doctor pricked my father's finger and no blood came out!! I will let you all know as soon as I know something.

So sorry for all your dad and family are having to suffer from this poor medical attention! He needed to be in an ICU area from the beginning, considering his age and other health issues! Hopefully, things will improve for him!

I didn't know your Dad was in hospital Coral, which one is he in? Oh you must be so worried.

Thanks Meg. He fell off a ledge onto a flight of concrete stairs. He has a broken backbone, broken elbow and a cracked skull - deep enough to expose his brain tissue. He is in South Africa.

Maybe you could find an ombudsman for the elderly in your area. They will stand up for your father and guarantee that he gets the care he needs.

Sorry, just realized you are in Australia and I don't know if that service is available to you there.
Goodness that upset me so that I can't think to finish a thought. I will pray for his healing and for some medical personnel to come along that takes an interest in what is going on with him and makes sure that he is comfortable while he heals.
