Hi Everyone,

I have been asked to embroidery some patches for the Boy Scout troop at our church and need some help to find a few designs. They have requested a soaring eagle, a cross (filled), and an empty tomb. The patches are 2" in diameter so they need to be small. I am not charging them a fee so the less expensive the better:). If you happen to have seen anything that might work I would appreciate any direction!
Thank you so much, jgrimes

Hi jgrimes,
That sounds like a fun project :-) You can get lots of free and small designs from AnntheGran.com and 3 free per week from embroiderydesigns.com. Those are good places to start. If you'd like, I will certainly digitize the cross for these scouts - about 1.25 inches high and very dense satin stitch? Email me with your format needed and I'll do it later today. I was a girl scout, and a cub scout leader - so I think I know what you need :-) Yeah for scouts!!!
And Welcome to Cuties! Jan

I forgot to add that all of the designs would be one color.

You could probably find the eagle design you need at DesignsbySick. They have a ($1 per set) $1 page, sale every hour, sometimes you can be lucky and your set will be on the $1 page. Otherwise their sets are reasonably priced anyway.
An empty tomb? If you showed me a picture I'd have a better idea of what you need and might possibly digitise it for you, depending on the amount of work. Hugs n roses, Meganne

Thank you Meganne! I have a jpg file of the tomb. How would be best to send it to you?
Thanks,
Judy

Sorry, I'm kinda new to all this! I just figures out I could include an image in a private note so I just sent it to you.
Thanks again!

Judy, I am so shocked that they don't already have the patches made up - I thought all Boy Scout troops could only use what they have available - good luck - it sounds like you are on the right track to assist. Share your finished work in PROJECTS for us all to get inspired by, soon.

Thanks for the encouragement! These patches are to represent their platoon (I think that is what they are called.) groups. They are not the ones that they earn. And one group actully picked to be call the empty tomb platoon :)
Blessings,
Judy

Good luck finding designs small enough that will stitch out well. I was going to do patches or badges for our childrens group at our church, but could'nt find what I needed so the lady found clipart and printed it onto photo fabric then I stitched the circle or whatever shape around the design. They turned out pretty good. Oh, I also placed wonderunder underneath the fabric so then it could be put on using an iron. There is proabaly a much better way to do them but it worked! Let us see what you come up with. Best wishes, Jane

Thanks for the idea. I will pass this on as an alternative if I can't get the designs stitched out well!
Blessings,
Judy
