I am totally in the dumps...2 of my fall shows have been cancelled..one for lack of vendors after 30 years and one because they don't want to do it anymore after 42 years and both are big money makers for me. It leaves me with 2 shows this fall...

I am just really blue right now and feel empty.......don't know how to pull myself out.....any suggestions?????

No suggestion so far but a big hug. Think of something you would love to do and don't normally allow yourself. NO IS THE TIME. Chocolate, Ice cream, nice book, Movie.....

Sometimes this happens and gives us an opportunity to try new shows. New clients and new contacts can be good.
I know it is a drag because they were good shows but this seems to be a growing trend, hard to compete in todays markets.

Have you thought of arranging one of the shows yourself ? big undertaking I know. May be someone else might take it on. Hope it will work out for you. Hugs edith

Bring your items and come visit me! In August they have a huge fair. It is very pricey to get in but I am told so very worth it. It is internationally known. Big ticket items like expensive quilts are sold. I will PM you with details. I just hope it is not too late to register.

Now, you cheer up!! I tend to think positive about most things; like when one door closes, another opens, usually to better things. Since, there is so little of which WE are in control of, I feel the Lord has a reason/purpose for whatever happens, and is looking out for our best interests in the long run!! Until, HIS plan falls into place, just, SMILE, and say, "This TOO shall pass! It WILL get better!" HE loves YOU, and HE WILL take care of YOU!!
Hugs,
Angel

I'd want to know why vendors stopped applying for the one show. I've noticed that show organizers have increased their entry fees at least 25% this past year while the sellers haven't been able to do the same. In the meantime, do an online search for other shows in your area. Some list sites want you to pay to see info. I usually if they say there is an event in a city but don't give the info, I just go online to the city's website and look up their events and get the link to the event that way. I'll try to post one of the links that I use a lot.

Again I thank you for all the designs that you have given so freely. The Lord loves a cheerful giver. With this being said, You SHALL know NO LACK!!! You will always have more than enough...JUST BELIEVE!!! When one door closes many more opens! I look forward to you telling of the many doors of opportunies that will open before you. Lord BLESS her with an overflow!!! In Jesus Name, AMEN! It is so and I bind up any and everything that will attempt to come against this prayer and send it to the abyss to be chaines and bound until judgement day. In JESUS Name I count it done!!! AMEN! Go in peace..."BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD" ;D *2U

Sorry for the loss of the shows. Shows around here have upped their entry fees - pricing little guys out of the market. We are planning on doing only one show this fall - if we pass the jury on July 9th and get a slot after that. Good luck on finding other outlets or starting your own with other vendors.

So sorry to hear of your disappointment. The shows around me have become so pricey that it doesn't pay to show anymore so I know what you are feeling. But, you still have 2 shows to plan for so that is a good thing.

What a bummer-on the brite side maybe you vendors will find another venue. You know a window closes and a door opens many times. Hang in there

Can you hook up with any new shows that are just beginning? Is there a crafter's association that puts you in touch with these shows? Here on the east coast there are a few crafter's guilds. I get emails from them about shows and classes to be held at their home base where they teach the crafts. One in particular is the Pennsylvania Crafter's Guild. It is is a juried show. Maybe there are similar in your area. Here is their link:>) Good luck and keep the faith.

Make your two shows bigger. You still have time to look for a couple others that you might get involved with.

Do you know any other vendors? If so you could ask them what is around . Also try to google craft shows in your area.Any big flea markets? Hope you find someplace to go. It is a shame this is happening all over not just there. Chin up... You will find someplace. everyone sends you their love and support and prayers. Suzanne
