"Tool" of the Arts - Post I – Bead Crochet hook – small is small just have a ball! Or rather Yarn or thread crochets to make… finish the sentence... I was wondering if this tool could help Meganne with her stockings. Have a Stitchin' day!

Thank you Jan, I got some really cool tools from a real seamstress/crafter/hand embroiderer.

What does this tool do. I don't understand. It looks like it is a seam riper to me. Or is that a hook and it grabs onto something? I can't read the words.

This tool adds beads to fabric. I am not a writer, but I love tools!

new use for old product
back in the days (1970s) of double knit, when you had a thread pull on your knit, this was used.
You would push it, closed, thru from the inside of your garment Then grab your pulled thread with the hook. Make sure it closes and pull back thru to the other side. Wala, your pulled thread is hidden on the inside of the gament and it looks like new again.

rug hooking tool is the same! I think from looking at this, it is smaller than the rug tool.

You are so right, I think that this may have sharper edges to cut the fabric like a wing needle.

That is different and looks very useful. Thanks for sharing.

This hook is similar to the one I have seen about 55 years ago in the hands of a young lady who was repairing stockings for herself, her mother and sister. She was very good and the stockings, after repaired, looked as new.
