Cuties!!! Why is the Public not only used for questions about anything that relates to sewing, I thought this site was set up for us to do so, as it says "Ask a Question" - and others as jokes, personal moments of joy and concern in Personal, then each one have a choice to view or ignore what is said in Personal???

Questions should mean only questions and replys.I think that should be the way to go,very misleading for new cuties...

Sigrun I agree with you 100%. Had the feeling the last time that there were to many jokes and other stuff like lists etc. in the PUBLIC-section.
Greetings, Bettina

The jokes on here are really amusing to read and it breaks the boredom of listening to the wingers like you that wrote this comment. It is better to have a laugh every day than lisyening to the constant negative comments in the world today. If you don't like the jokes, no one is forcing you to read them. I say good on the lady that is writing these jokes, she is brillant. I wish she would write a book with them all in, I would definately buy it.

I have nothing against jokes I read it from time to time, but I just think all this talk be placed beyond the founder of this site put up with - or am I misunderstanding something? I was just hoping that we could compare ourselves to the Public only for questions about sewing and Personal for everything else that we want to say, it was my intention with this comment, nothing else

These is not important in my opinion. It´s important that we are all cuties and that we have and share moastly the same interest´s.

I was under the impression that this subject had been put to rest and buried in the corner with all the other rubbish. Lets get on with the important stuff. Hugs Marg

I'm with you, enough already. Everyone posts things on the Public tab that doesn't pertain to embroidery/crafts. I for one rarely go to the personal tab. I find it too depressing.

Me too. Depressing is one word for it, %$#&%$ depressing is two words for it.

Wow, sorry that people asking for help, understanding, and prayer is such a downer. Yet everybody insists this site is so "friendly"--only if you don't need to ask for prayer for a sick child, I guess.

It was originally set up that way. First there was only the one place to post, then the tabs for Freebies, Personal information, and Private Messages were added by Veronika, the site owner, so that the place you come to first, which is Public, would be for help with sewing and embroidery questions. Freebies was for posting all the free designs people wanted to share where they found them, and Personal was for prayer requests, babies, grandkids, items of a more truly personal nature between friends here that wouldn't be immediately on display to anyone just browsing the site. That was working well for a while, then a whole raft of newer people came and when they were asked nicely to put posts in the appropriate tab, everybody got into a big snit and there was a lot of fighting and hard feelings. The tabs were put there by the site owner for a reason, but that one extra click seemed to be beyond the ability of some to make their mouse hand do. So that's why we have ended up with this mess yet again, and why so many many of the people who were here years ago and enjoyed it are no longer coming, or are doing a quick read and going somewhere else. We have lost much valuable sewing expertise and a couple of good digitizers. If I could find the post the site owner, Veronika, made at the time, I would put a link to it, but it's probably 100 pages back. Basically, people have come to view this space as an instant messenger service, a blog, a substitute for Facebook, not an embroidery/sewing Q&A service as it was set up to be. Veronika has 6 websites to manage, and hasn't the time or interest to moderate and referee these petty squabbles, so they will continue forever. And a lot of people who want help will never get it. That's the history of why, Sigrun, and you'll just get beaten up for trying to change it. Brave of you to bring it up, put your armor on, you'll need it. Hugs, Marji

Yes it was like that when I first came to this site and hope that it will be so again - I will not let any object affect me I'm a strong person and can take the consequences - thank you Marji.
Hugs to you too.
