Sad news to share, I'm afraid. My sister (Cute name songthrush) died suddenly yesterday. Although she was not a regular contributor (being a bit of a technophobe) she was one of the Cute family who loved her machine embroidery. The last time we spent a day together I showed her how to make an ITH zipped purse. We had a lot of fun.

Oh, Dear Sue- my heart just flopped over in my chest. I wish that I could hold your hand and wipe your tears and make you feel better, but I know that you will just have to do the time to get to the point that your memories are happy ones and aren't filled with the sorrow of the hole that has been left in your heart. Thank you all for your kind comments. My loss is nothing compared to that of her sons, daughter and grandchildren who only lost their father a year ago. Songthrush was Mave's Cute identity because her actual Christian name, Mavis, is an old English word for a songthrush. She loved to sing although her asthma did get in the way in later years. She was a lovely person who touched many lives with happiness and fun and she will be remembered fondly by all of them.

Please extend my condolences to her children and grandchildren. This must be incredibly hard her children to mourn the loss of their mother after so recently grieving their father’s death. I will keep them in my prayers.

I'm sorry that I didn't see this sooner. I'm happy for you that you had a chance to spend some fun time together and KNOW for a fact that you were left with final good feelings. I know that it is tough when people have a long drawn out illness, but at least that prepares us for the upcoming final event. The sudden ones, where we don't have time to make that peace or say our goodbyes are the hardest. I lost my dad suddenly, and am still struggling with that 7 years later, mostly because I had no warning. I hope you are finding some peace, and are starting to move to a point where you can have a happy feeling when you think of her instead of the emptiness of her absence! Hang in there.
