Question of the day: Do you find it cheaper to embroider & make your own baby bibs or use pre-made and embroider on them?

If you watch the sales, you could find some really good buys on the ready made. But that top one here is adorable and I would love to try that sometime.

I don't do baby stuff, but I think if it were a gift for a special friend's baby, I'd go whole hog and make it myself, like that top one. But if I were doing craft fairs, etc. I'd use ready made blanks, because you just can't charge enough for things to cover the cost of materials and time making it. For a friend, making it is part of the gift, the generosity of your time & talent. Hugs, Marji

If I'm doing it for someone special for a gift I will make a bib...maybe... but for resale I've always used the terry ones bought in a pack at Target. I can afford to sell them cheaper.
Since I'm not doing craft shows any more... I will probably not be making any bibs.

I prefer to make my own.... I can be more creative.
I use toweling for the back of my bibs. I also make designer style denim bibs with the baby's name and lace on them.... these are usually pretty well received... they seem to like them a lot.

I agree with the others.
The difference in quality of the above two is stark.
You've done a brilliant job of the baseball bib, would be a shame to use it & get it slopped on though...lol

I think the ones made are much nicer, than the blank purchased ones. Of course, no one wants to pay for the nicer, so unless it is for a particular person or friend, then the blanks are the way to go.
