I am thinking of making a item to store my stabilizers about 1ft x 5ft with 2 lines of thick elastic from top to bottom something like the flip flop holder shown recently it could hang on wall or door,Do you think it would work, what would you do instead.some of the rolls can be quite heavy.

It sounds great. For the rolls that are heavier you could use another method.

Instead of elastic why not make horizontal pockets (slightly narrower than the base fabric) by looping and stiching down every few inches. You can use a thick roll for placement of the stitching lines so the pockets would accomodate the rolls. You can make this to go over a door or on a wall.I have seent this with the names of the type of stabilizers embroidered on the pockets and it was pretty, but IMHO I would never be putting them in the right pockets! Better for me to make flowers or sewing designs, then I don't have to think about which pocket it goes back into!

Maybe the larger rolls you could take some of the stabilizer from the roll and place in the holder so you have it more accessible and store the larger roll elsewhere. Just an idea!!

I have found to make the pockets the size you need for your hoops. You can then store pieces ready for hooping, and keep your rolls out of site till needed. I also have one for my hoops.

Embroidery library has a free PDF pattern for a wall hanging for your hoops. It is on Kennys project pages. Hugs Joyce
