I don't use pre-wound bobbins, so I really can't help with that. But, have you ever thought of just winding a bunch of empty bobbins at the same time, like maybe when you're watching a TV show? Then you'd have them all ready to go when you need them. I sort of thought the pre-wound were pricey, and the ones I did get for my Janome were not wound with the thin bobbin thread, but with regular white thread, which gave me far fewer stitches. Just a thought, hope you get other help from people who know pre-wounds. Hugs, Marji

For viking machines you would need L and plastic sided are better, at least for my viking machines that is what I use. Try www.allstitch.com for the bobbins or www.metro thread.com (they are cheaper but not always in stock) and they have great prices on thread as well as stabilizers, etc

I use the cardboard, plastic and the magnetic and my own bobbins and have no problem. But before you buy in bulk ,try a sample pack to see if your machine likes them. Seems as if www.longcreekmills.com used to sell a sample pk. my machiine will wind extra bobbins while the embroidery is stitching which is another handy feature. Kay

I read this recently on some web site[but I can't remember where] class L fits a machine which takes a bobbin which measures 13/16" x 5/16". ( thirteen sixteenths of an inch by five sixteenths of an inch). Size A is 13/16"x7/16".

Hi, I never use prewound, They also run out during a stitchout. So have a few bobbins of my own that I wind using a cream overlock polyester thread( big cone).

I buy all my bobbins from Alstitch. They are the cheapest around so far...Look in your manual it will tell you what size to buy. Most machines are L type. Suzanne

I have 2 Viking machines, SE & Diamond, and use the clear glide prewound bobbins from allstitch. Work great & your machine will tell you when the bobbin is out. My machines use size L, so imagine yours does too. I also got some of the colors to use with fsl. They also have some GREAT tear away stablizer.

Since trying pre wound I have never looked back. I live in SA so I do not think I can be of any help. Sarah.

You will need L sized, plastic sided pre wound bobbins for your Viking Topaz.

I don't use prewound bobbins. But thought I would throw another idea out at you. I use a generic color such as white (when you can't see through the material) and wind 2 or 3 bobbins and then just switch them out as needed. That way you don't have to stop and unthread the machine to wind the bobbin.
