This is one of the best tips I have gotten here as I always use a straw with my soda cans, and I drink soda all day!! Thank you!! Now how do we keep the cat from pulling the straw out of the can...LOL!!

I am so glad and I am not sure how you train your cat not to do that.

Yes, we always did this. When the kids were younger they made things with the little tabs, like bangles and necklaces. The tins made wonderful money boxes too.You could glide the change along a knife to raid the box. LOL...

Thanks. Now you have me on this one. What tins for money boxes?
by gerryb 05 Jul 2012
The cans as a bank. I guess you could even make a can cozy to go around it so it would look sorta cute? I keep a bank by the washing machine & if you've left change in your pockets, it's mine. Save it until Christmas & then give it to the Lottie Moon Mission offering!

Been this doing ever since the pull tabs came out and that was a looooonnnng time ago. Personally I liked putting peanuts in a coke in the bottle better than I do the cans/Lillian

Peanuts in your coke, does sound like a old Barbara Mandrell song. HaHa.
by gerryb 06 Jul 2012

Learned that one some time ago - kinda forgot about it as I rarely use straws. I am the one who always warns people if they are using a straw, to make sure it is not close to me as if I reach for something and the can with the straw in it is in the path, for some reason I just don't see the straw and end up spilling someone's drink! hehe
But it certainly works!

We learned this years ago and always pass it on to anyone that is struggling with their straw and their can.

This is a new one on me. I have never seen anyone do this but it's a great idea if you used a straw to drink your soda. Everyone I know just drinks right from the can.

It was new to us, until my mom was in the hospital and they had her drinking with a straw and she couldn't keep it in the can. The nurse shared it with her. I thought it was a great tip.
