I am thinking of buying a Cricuit paper cutter to cut out some names for a bullitin board. I do not know anything about these machines. Is one better than another? Any help would be appreciated.

I suggest you do some research first. I have an older cricut expression machine and I'm happy. Now we have many choices and brands. So check not just the price of the machine, but the price of cartridges, can you only cut files with cartridges or can you use third party software to have more options for cutting. Its extensive and to long to post here. Just google papercutting machines. There are several brands now.

You cannot use third party software with the Cricut. Cricut sued the makers of those two software companies and made them remove the cricut format.
I would but another brand - one that lets you use third party software if you want to be more creative and design you own shapes or download free from the internet and use.

Most place have one that you can use for an hour or so. I would try it out a few times at the location before I made a decision of what I would purchase.
