I first tried 7zip for the rar files-from info here. And, as you will read, it does a lot more files. You should also have a built-in capability on your computer. Double click on the file, it opens, and you either choose extract, or just drag the files you want out of the folder into another.Jo

I have WinRar and it has expired but it still unzips just fine for me. I just right click on it and unzip or unzip to a file.

I also use to have winrar, but like you it expired. I can still click on the rar file and click on extract and it opens it just like it would a zip file. Hope you have someone close that can come look at your computer for free and help figure it out for you. I hope mine doesn't start acting like yours. Goodluck.

Your computer should do what this guide says. Google things like-my windows7 computer stopped unzipping, for example, and see what comes up. Chances are, someone else has had a problem, and you'll see the answer.
7zip is- a right click on the file, on the menu is 7zip, then you choose extract here (or one of the other choices) Super easy to use. Good luck.

WinZip11 unzips .rar files now.

Any WinZip program older than that doesn't.
