A tip - next time wear rubber gloves then you wont have the problem. Dye is permanent and can be difficult to remove, it will wear off in time

Try a little Bleach if you can put it on your hands. Worked for me in the past. Might be a little harsh, but it did work, or paint thinner also, but make sure you wash your hands well and then put lotion. Hopefully someone else will have a better answer, but this worked for me.

Never heard of lime gel, maybe somebody has. I'm interested in the fabric dying, though. Why, how, and what for? Show us in Projects. You could show us your hands as a Project too, hee hee heee. Hugs, Marji

Lemon juice and salt, made into a paste. Scrub and use a nail brush. This will speed up the wearing off time.

I read toothpaste would take it off.

Oh dyeing fabric has been on my list for several years.... I have the dye ,fabric and even a bunch of tubs... I want to make some stretcher bars some I can paint some too. Maybe it will happen this summer.... Post some pictures and any tips too

Try gojo hand cleaner. It is a white cream that is used in the automotive industry to clean hands. Works so well on grease, dirt, grime, etc. Unscented the container we have.

This may sound strange but when I dyed a pair of pants I got dye on my hands didn't think about gloves at the time. My friend told me to use lemon dish soap and peroixde and soak my hand in it for about 10 minutes and it lighted it up.

I was going to say Bi Carbinated Soda made into a paste might work as it takes stains off china. I too cant use strong chemicals as it plays up with my Asthma so I use Bi Carb vinegar or lemon for most of my house cleaning. Hugs Joyce

Try soaking your hands in warm water and baking soda. It's a cure all. Has no odor and is safe for the skin. Also WD-40 might work. Hope you find a solution. Hugs and blessings, Rachel

I have just use Dylon machine dye it worked a treat, try next time.

I use lemon and salt, takes a while though.

I really don't know if this will work for dye on the hands but I know it works on your hair - if you get it too dark, etc with hair dye.

If all else fails and you're still searching.. perhaps turpentine as used to remove paint may be a possibility? Hope this helps.

Have you tried soaking in denture cleaner? I am told it removes dye from skin and is used by those who tan in a bottle. I have not tried it. I would read the ingredients list or ask a pharmacist if you think it might cause you pain.

Tint remover. hairdressers use it to remove hair-color from their hands.

Not sure about fabric dye, but I have a friend that does a lot of stamping/inking and she says no matter how dyed her hands are, they always come clean when she washes her hair! So maybe shampoo!??

It happened to me and I think I used alcohol but most just came off with time. Now I use gloves LOL

I would try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Would probably just soak one of the sponges in a very small amt of water and squeeqe out whatever it is that is in these sponges and rub it into your hands. I found out how great this stuff is when a friend brought me a set of satin sheets to embroider as a wedding gift. I had gotten one pillowcase finished when I noticed a black magic marker mark about 1 inches long on one of the cases. I freaked and search everywhere on my worktable thinking I had done it... NOT! I got the Mr Clean ME and that permanent marker stain came off and it left no ring and did not discolor the fabric. I then ran downstairs to my kitchen to see if it would remove a sharpee mark (about 3") on my white kitchen cabinet. I had tried everything to get that off with no success. It came off with just a swipe or two. I was amazed!

well I tried a mixture of warm water baking soda & vinegar & more of it has come off. I did try the toothpaste but I was unsuccessful with it! I tried the lemon juice & salt too & it was abrasive but did not work well.
