Hubby and I just rang our bells- a bit sheepishly- to ring in the start of the Olympics! Jan

Dolly can you pick it up via the internet? I have listened to the bells and yesterday I heard someone I know talking about the children in her village who she organised to do the bell ringing

I checked everywhere on line and the Olympic comittee have banned a live stream of the opening!! Guess I'll just have to check the black market video retailers here for a copy which I'm sure will be available from tomorrow!

This sounds sad as on the radio (I am always glued in to my radio) it says that it is expected that a billion will be watching throughout the world. I will be seeing it at my daughters
by dollygk 27 Jul 2012
BUT as usual in Saudi, it would have to be edited (bathing suits, skinpy outfits etc.) so that it won't be live.

It is on at 2AM here in Australia on free to air TV but I dont think I will be staying up for it as it is only 10:15PM here at the moments and I am soon off to bed. I am sure they will have a re-run of it in the next couple of days at a reasonable time. Hugs Joyce

Hey, Olympics watchers, I just accidentally stumbled onto this site. For those of you who can't get the broadcasts or cable casts, maybe this would help. I think I need to update the browser, too much buffering for me, drives me crazy. But those of you with newer computers might be able to watch, and there's lots of choices. Good luck, happy Olympics! Hugs, Marji

I am so sorry! I can't wait for Olympics. I have always loved it and it just so happens that the Olympics were the last thing my mom and I did together before she passed away as we always watched them together.

NBC started their on air broadcast of the opening ceremonies at 8PM here in USA East Coast. I'm sure it's recorded because of the time difference, but that's fine with me. It's been an amazing show so far, and the chidren singing "God Save the Queen", with the Queen right there to hear them, wow! This production is SO well done. I hope you can all see it somehow, it's so fantastic. Hugs, Marji

It's only been 12 hours since the opening of the Olympic Ceremony and I've already found, on line, copies of the event and I'm downloading now.... did the Queen actually do a skydive, I'm pretty sure she DID NOT!

I don't believe this too but the idea from her majesty together with James Bond/Daniel Craig in the helicopter was so funny. And Mr. Bean in the orchestra! Great!
by oigelcox 28 Jul 2012
She went up in a helecopter with the actor who played the latest James Bond who went to the palice to fetch the queen and the Duke. They through out a dummy dressed exactly like the queen to look like she sky dived out near London Bridge I saw it on our News. Hugs Joyce

Wow I'm jealous that you could watch how they did that film. Must be exciting :o)

I think the Queen is an awfully good sport to have gone along with the whole thing! She didn't skydive, but that was actually her in the palace, with the actor and all. At first I thought it was 'photoshopped' somehow, but it was really the Queen. Brava, Elizabeth Regina!
