Right it's me again. I think the bobbin is in correctly and I have the correct needle and bobbin thread and upper thread and stabilizer , I think it might be down to the tension I can sew 1/4 pattern before it jams and makes a horrible noise so slowly getting there.
Question for you? should the bit that holds the needle wobble. I have sewn half a design before having the problems I am having now and have altered the tension does any one know the tension near enough for a Brother 150 or is it down to material you are stitching on. If I remember I have not altered tension before even though sewing on different material

No, the bit holding the needle should not wobble! When it jams, do you have threadnests underneath? Does the needle completely lock when it jams? Small bits of thread in the bobbin area, can keep the bobbin from turning freely, so clean that area good, checking for stray thread bits. A stray thread caught and wrapped around the upper gears above the needle at top left of the machine can cause a jam, where the needle will not go up or down and a horrible noise from strain on the motor. This happened to mine, and I carefully removed the cover from the gears, clipped and removed the thread pieces with tweezers, until EACH bit was removed. The machine has functioned well since!

Oh! It sounds like it may need repair. I hope you are stitching away very soon. I have 2 brothers and cotton runs between 2 and 4 and poly is up near 6 on the non-computerized machine. Call brother - they will help you if they can. If it is under warranty - you have to talk to them anyway!

I was going to suggest try another design as the one you have may be badly digitized. But the needle wobble doesn't sound good :(
