Memory blanket for Molly (it would be pretentious to call it a quilt!) The squares are cut from my sister's T-shirts. Mave (Songthrush) loved bags, shoes and tigers so those designs feature strongly. 13 year old Molly (her grand-daughter) has Asberger's and loves dolphins. The central dolphin was a test stitchout we found amongst Mave's fabric. The patchwork is mounted on polar fleece and simply tied at each intersection.

It looks very pretty; nice colours and lovely designs. Molly will love it.
What size did you make your squares?

18cm. I hooped old sheeting and used an 18cm outline to stitch the jersey fabric to it before stitching the design. The outline was then my stitching line for joining the squares.
Great idea, thanks!

Sue what a great way to remember your sister. It's like she is still around a little bit... Wonderful choice of colors and designs.

Sue, this is beautiful - it is more than a quilt - it an incredible remembrance of your sister (and Molly's Grandmother). Plus, it has your skills and love stitched right into it. It is perfection. Hugs, Laura*

Thanks for sharing this labor of love. Also gave me a great idea for the back of a T-shirt quilt. If you use the printed fronts as the 'memories' blocks, what to do with the rest besides rags? I have enough rags. This would make a great idea for a back, plus being able to use all those redwork designs I love. It would be washable, reversable, and need nothing inside, unless I wanted to use a piece of felt for batting/stabilizer for the smaller redwork squares. Super inspirational, thanks so much for sharing this! Hugs, Marji
