For those of you who are interested in quilting or pattern pcs applique I have a tip for you that has made it sew much easier. Instead of tracing out your pattern pcs how about placing them on top of a photo copy & then laminating sheets or clear shelf paper! This makes them really easy & acurate when you cut them out & they can be used over & over again! I have recently tried this & it was great to work with the pcs like this!

Ok. I'm a little confused. Are we laminating (or covering with shelf paper) the copied pattern pieces? Or just making a pattern piece from laminating material?
Make a photocopy of the pieces, so you have the original intact. Put the photocopy between two pieces of the clear self-stick shelf paper, and cut them out. If you have a laminator it would work, too, but be more expensive.

That clear contact paper on a roll is wonderful for lots of stuff, this is one of the things it's good for. I also cover often-used recipies, have a quilt size chart in my purse that I covered & it takes quite a beating. Also good for making bookmarks, covering dust jackets of books, even pattern pieces for smaller projects; that way you can trace around them. Great tip! Hugs, Marji

I have laminated my favourite Quilt block templates. Stick it to the quilting ruler as guides for cutting.
Printed direct onto thick tracing paper also does the trick.
We use this tracing paper to do placement and multi hooping. Tracing pad is available from stationary store "Waltons"
