Please do not think I am not grateful but I could cry when I open the lovely Wednesday present from Adorable Applique and find that it is again too big for my 4x4 hoop. Surely I am not the only one who cannot use these gifts. Sarah.

You must be talking about the Owl and the Aquarium designs, the owl design is even too large for the standard 5x7 hoop. Yes I agree, this is very sad to raise people's hopes then dash them against a wall.
I wish I could help you but perhaps Miss V will see this post and realise how upsetting this is to many of her loyal Cuties. Hugs n roses, Meganne

Thank you Meganne. It is todays freebie and present - both are too large for my hoop and my machine will not accept it. Sarah.
Please help me: Which owl are you talking about? I've just seen a pumpkin and the aquarium...

There was an Owl on a pumpkin???? before the pumpkin design was put up. Maybe it was a mistake as it looked kind of strange.

I have a Brother and if I change the orientation of the design I get a warning, however it will stitch. Unfortunately it is machine dependent, however most will put the long side as the height and vertical in the frame. Wilcom works great to reduce, however it is not recommended to go over 15%. LLDS!

Thanks Christine - I do have Wilcome but a bit sceptical how it would work on applique. I think I might give it a try.

I am also hoop challenged. Have a 4x4 and a 4x6 3/4 split hoop. I find it frustrating and disappointing to find a design I really love and it is too large.
Wilcom Truesizer is easy to use but does not change the stitch count much. Have not tried to stitch out anything I have resized yet. I also tried resizing wih Stitch Era Universal and it also does not change the stitch count much. I purchased 4D embroidery along time ago -just the basic program and it changes the stitch count considerably but as far as I can see the only way to resize with it is to drag to change size and I find it hard to keep the proportions of the design. Still experimenting.

The native format of this design is .ART - go to Bernina USA and download ARTLink...it's free. You will then be able to resize it (hopefully it will sew out fine) since you are resizing it in the orginal software. You will see that in ARTLink that it is Grade A which means that it's native format is ART.

Forgot to add download the free design in ART so it can be resized. Other formats won't resize as well.

Additional info: I checked the Bernina site and it should resize just fine...also you will need to "SAVE AS" into the format that you need. Here's the link to download. Be sure to click the Support tab at the top.
