Thank you - no this is not the Puffin, this seabird no longer exist, the last one was killed here in Iceland.

This is rather more complicated than I'd attempt, but it is a lovely drawing. It's such a shame we have lost so many species to our own greed. This lovely Auk deserves to have his memory preserved. Hugs, Marji

I don't know where the picture came from but it might be copy righted!
I do not think so,the image is from the Natural History museum of Iceland and anyone can use them as I was told.

Sigrun...so sorry it has taken me so long to answer...I didn't want to commit until I knew I could do this majestic bird justice...I have completed your request and I will put it up on DBC as Wednesday's freebie, unless you need it sooner...
I read the article on this bird and it sickened me that once again, man ended another species, so I had to do this design!! Thanks for requesting it!!

2 days ago i didn't know what an Auk-seabird was. Thank you Sigrun and Vicki for giving us the history of this bird and for the great design. Can't wait to see how Sigrun uses it in her project.

Vicki, How in the world do you start the digitizing for this? You make feathers look like feathers! I think I need to stitch it out just to observe your sequencing. This bird is beautiful. Thanks for making it for Sigrun so now we can all enjoy it!

Wow, Vicki! Your digitization of this magnificent seabird has captured all its features so well, it appears lifelike, as in the picture Sigrun posted. I admire your skills in digitizing, and I must say I do not think anyone can surpass the job you did on this! When I saw Sigrun's request and the pic of the Auk, my first thought was, "Oh, man, what a task to replicate THAT in stitches!" My hat if off to you, and if I was giving out awards, you'd get "1st Place" most definitely!!
