i have the denim allready to create the circular mock cathederal qindow quilt just have to work out the best size for the circle and how to get the square in it central.
any one got a template for it?

Toogie, thank you so much for giving this site!! The denim is a perfect quilt fabric, and a perfect "carrier" for the inset pieces I want to use. I have a lot of scraps and stash of my Mom's. Some of it is good cotton, which is great for quilts, but some of it is oddball stuff, cotton poly, and even some poly knit, which is not so good. It's scraps from dresses of hers, and dresses and curtains and things that have good memories. I've wanted to make a memory quilt for me, but with all the various fabric types just couldn't figure how to go about it. But putting it inside the denim, it doesn't matter what the fabric is. The quilt will be sturdy, but still show off all those fabrics I love to look at and remember. Again, thanks so much for this link, I really really appreciate it!! Hugs, Marji

i have found a way to get the templates
decide first on the size suare you want to use and mark it and cut it out of card,
next find the dead center of the square and use a compass to do the circle that is just 1/16th smaller than the square so that the points of the square are projecting past the circle.
this can now be marked out on plastic useing a indelible pen.
mark in the square and once you have this done you take a hot pin and draw line like marching ants along the straight lines, this will leave a line of holes that can be used to mark in the sewlines on the denim. mark on the reverse of the fabric.
now you have a complete template of not only the circle but also the square.
make a new square just a tad smaller than the block. If you use clear plastic you can fussycut any fabric to get the best center picture for the inside of the folded over circle.
I do hope you can understand this but if not i will do one and take photos later this week.
