Thank you Meganne for letting me know about loose threads. With my older thread the plastic ends are crumbling and I now have reels of thread I cannot use on the embroidery machine.

Sandra, if you can get them to wind onto a bobbin, you put the bobbin in the thread holder and sew with it there. That is unless your thread is also deteriorated. ;)

Hi Hands24. I have bought a lot of embroidery thread some five to six years ago, and the thread has plastic caps both top and bottom of the thread to hold it. The plastic is now deteriorating, and the thread unravels because of it. Hope this makes sense to you. Cheers.

I had some of these as i get an empty thread that is of a good quality i rewind by hand looks a bit rough but works
