2 days ago Sewmom listed a freebie from Bernina for Crazy Patchwork.Has anyone downloaded it & successfully converted it from ART format to anther format? I tried to convert it to VP3 or HUS using a free trial of Buzz tools but it didn't work although some of the other ART designs I had, converted alright.Another problem with the Buzz tools was that the hoop sizes they have listed are smaller than the hoops I have ,so this might be causing problems

I understand that Bernina offers a free software for converting ART designs into other formats. I have downloaded the software but haven't installed yet. You may want to try. The link is below.

Do please let us know what formats it will convert to, Lidia. I bet it won't do JEF for Janome, because Wilcom wrote both softwares & gave exclusivity to each.
Thank you. I have also downloaded it to try. I use VIP and Wilcom will not open it or convert to it. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for the link works great to change format for me.
I have installed and used it to convert ART format designs to other formats. I then opened the designs in Embird to test them and all appears to be OK.

My StudioIII from Designer's Gallery converted them to pes. Sizes are: (#1--6 3/8x7" or 16.42x17.92cm)
(#2--6 7/16x6 15/16" or 16.48x17.84cm) (#3--6 5/8x6 5/8" or17.02x17.08cm) (#4--6 3/4x6 5/8" or 17.42 x 17.08cm) They are Art60, so I think you might need to try the art link

I use Janome (JEF), but isn't there a newer ART format, like ART4 or something? Maybe that's why your Buzz won't read it correctly. I hope some ART users can help. Wilcom wrote both Bernina and Janome software, and they have exclusivity clauses, so my Janome software won't read or convert to ART, and Bernina software won't read or write JEF. Maybe someone else will have some more information on this conversion stuff, hope so. Hugs, Marji

Bernina ARTLINK software is free. ARTLINK does not require a dongle. You can open, resize, flip and rotate and save designs. You can open Art formats from V1 up through V6, and DST, XXX, CSD, Pcm, pcq, pcd, pcs, EXP,SEW, VIP, VP3, SHV. HUS,GNC, EMD, PEC, PES, ARX(cross stitch).
YOU CAN NOT DO ANYTHING WITH JEF FORMAT.
Save as is a function. I find I often have to save to other than ART and then reopen from the new format as the new software requires Grade A and B ART files. It is a minor quirk and the software is free. It is editing only, not digitizing.

Thank you .I downloaded the free ART LINK ,thankfully my internet speed was reasonable because it took 15mins for the 134mb file to download but the pdf file got stuck so I'll have to try again later.Will let you know if it works out.

Tried the ARTLINK 6 software that I downloaded, it seems to do a lot of the things that my 4D Extra does but doesn't convert designs from one format to another.Discussed the problem with a friend who has the complete Buzz Tools program & she had no trouble converting these ART files to VP3

ArtLink does convert designs including ART to several different formats...including VP3. Do a "Save As" and then look at the drop down box and it listed mutilple formats to convert to.

I have also downloaded ARTLINK from Bernina and was successful in converting this Crazy Patchwork design after unzipping it in Embird. Some time ago I downloaded files from Bernina - Cutwork but now find that they are Draw format - not embroidery files

Well I am having a several senior moments where this is concerned I can not work out how to convert the ART format to VP3 or HUS.I have tried several times to download the pdf file,but it gets stuck on page 1 & there are 5 pages.I was hoping it would have some instructions on how to use it
