We are now well into the Paralympics, this is my younger daughter and me at the Olympics. We were on the top of Box Hill in Surrey at the Womens Cycling Road race. (The first medal was won in this event for the UK). There were huge crowds there though it looks quite quiet from my picture. And as with the UK weather this summer it poured down and we got wet. This is a reminder for me of a brilliant day ( weekend too really) and about 12 hours of driving to get there and back. For every UK gold medal won there is a post box (mail box) painted gold from where the winner comes from and postage stamps printed of the winner too.

Dear Caroline, are you staying in London for any of the other events? Actually looking at the clouds it rather looks like a typical English summer to me! he he he! Love Chris

What a wonderful idea. Have not been to Box Hill since I was a child. Great to see you Carolyn, especially as we had a chat on the phone a couple of months ago. Thank you for posting.

I now see that this is a very old post..........
