Here is a quilt I made. It was an attempt to use up some of my scraps from my last quilt. Now I have even more scraps. Also 2 close ups. Designs are from various places. Thanks

Very nice "scrappy" idea, bright and cheerful with the white embroidered blocks alternating with the pieced blocks, and your quilting is lovely!! Thanks for showing this, very well done!! Hugs, Marji

Beautiful project! Photos can take just a short time to come through, so that's normal for people to think they didn't show up :)

Beautiful. You said 8 x 8 blocks - so your designs must be about 6 x 6. How did you ever find so many beautiful and different large designs to fill the blocks?

I accumulated them over the past 6 years.

You did a beautiful job of putting together scraps and blocks. It is definitely something to be proud of. Did you do this "string quilt" style?
IF you do not want your scraps, advertise them on Craig's List. You'll have a taker so fast that you'll wonder if your post actually made it to the board.

I just got my husband in here to see this. He loves quilts as much as I do, and has actually helped me quilt, by hand, baby quilts for the grandbabies.Your thread just shines on your embroidery.May I ask what brand emb thread you used? Polyester or rayon?-Toogie

This has to be one of the most creative use of design and quilting I have seen. Congratulations on your master piece.

I do have a question, please. The way you have the blocks set in fours with the fabric around them does this mean you quilted it in blocks of four and set it together? Hope that makes sense. Love Love this quilt

yes that is what I did. there were 244 8x8 blocks and 72 15 1/2 blocks. I figured it would be easier that way

Thank you for your reply..It will help me if/when I get to work on mine. You did such a fantastic job and have such a wonderful wonderful heirloom (know heirlooms usually are thought of as something old) but this is truly a treasure. Really appreciate you sharing

Oh My Goodness!!!! I love this quilt. I love the riot of colour tempered by the whiteness of the embroidered blocks. The white blocks show up the embroidery designs so well. I love the way you've sashed four blocks together giving form to the overall quilt but still blending in so well with the other colours.
It must have been the greatest fun making this masterpiece.

This quilt is magnificent!!!
