UPDATE ON JOSHUA

Joshua has been to see the orthopaedic surgeon this morning to have his stitches and clips removed. His leg and ankle have been put in plaster and he has managed to put full weight on his foot and to walk a few steps. When Emma phoned me I just burst into tears. The plaster stays on for six weeks then a moon boot. It has been decided to keep Joshua down a year as he has missed so much school. He is quite happy with this decision. Cannot wait to see all my GC next week in Johannesburg. Hugs Sarah.

Glad to hear of the progress. I am impressed by your GS for being so adult and accepting to redo his year at school. It is a brave decision as the school friends are so important for them - and they will be in another class - Give him a big hug, just from me. You should all be proud of him.

Wonderful happy news for him. Hopefully now his healing will progress faster. This new mobility should give him back his independence from depending on others.

The weight bearing is wonderful. This will help him to heal. I knew this was going to be a long haul but he is young and resiliant and time is on his side. He'll catch up one of these days./Lillian
