Is it just me? I feel like I am the only one who does not collect the alphabets. Even if it is a free complete set I don't download because I know I'll never use it.

Bev you are not a alphaholic, be thankful, it can be stressful. I dont know how many I have but I do know lots have never been used and probably never will. But I am sure that there is some style of design that you download frantically and cant get enough of

I collect alphabets, and yes don't know when I'm gonna use it. Put people collect ex stamps too and they never use them..as long as it makes one happy there is no harm.

It's like it is so cute and loveable at the time but when you check back much later I don't like them as much. I guess our taste change with time.

OK here's what I do, I collect most of them then I miss a letter or 2 so I delete that alpha, then start over, however I do use them. I make baby blankets/crib blankets stitching out the entire alphabet 1 to a block and add several related blocks to make it come out even. Then poof an adorable quilt just for baby that will also help them learn the alphabet. The more adult themes work for stiching labels on my quilts or for a senior type lap quilt. ;-)

Well, I guess it's me, too. I have collected some of the more unusual ones, like the Firebird here at Cute, and actually used it. I have some, like the current one, and Estival, because they're just so gorgeous I like to look at them in my software. I might actually use those on some towels, if somebody wanted some. Mostly I don't bother, because I collect hundreds of cat designs I'm never going to use, either, hee hee hee. It doesn't matter to me if I don't have all the letters. If I have my ititials, who cares? Anything I do with it will probably be for me, anyway, and I don't know anyone whose last name begins with X. If I did things for other people, I just wouldn't show them an alpha that had the letters of their name missing, I'd do a different one. I don't get it why people delete a whole alpha because a couple of letters are missing. Just personal taste, I guess. So, no, you're not the only one. Hugs, Marji

No Bev, I never collect alphabets, I just spend my time trying to invent new ones for others to download, lol. Which lots of people still do judging by how many get downloaded.

No, I too belong to the "I don't download alphabets club". I did way back when I first started out but found I wasn't using them and it was a waste of time. Hugs..Carol

Nope. I don't collect alpha either. I often wonder what people do with them all. I don't often collect freebies either. I have sooo many designs & I like sets. Mind you that doesn't stop me looking. xx

I don't usually collect alphas either, unless I think I will actually use them...I only have 3 sets!

I try to collect the alphas. Sometimes I use only a part of a letter...for instance in the Cutie Pie font...I used only the kitty on the letter F and the dog on the I for another project. I look at the components of the alpha as well as the letter. The owls are cute all by themselves.

I also do not collect Alphas - even free ones. I know that I will never use them. I do own a few fonts which I have bought with upper and lower case letters and find those most useful. I very rarely DL a freebie of anything these days. Sarah.

I have a huge collection and do use some of them on towels and monograms, for table linen, also kiddie ones for quilts.
I love it when it is offered as a whole.
I have some with missing letters too. LOL..
Have loads of fun admiring them.
Happy Stitching!

The alphabets are one of my favourite addictions, Bev. I do use them. Often on towels or baby items, though mostly just one letter and a coordinating alpha, of course. Each to their own. I'm sure you're doing much more clever stuff while others are collecting :)

I used to collect them. I do not collect them anymore. I found that I very rarely use any of them. The ones I do have take up lots of space on my computer and I have enough to choose from if I ever decide that I need them. Hugs, Mary

I don't collect them either, I have more than I can ever use, and wish we could get away from the alphabets for a while on this site. Ms. Veronica has a site set up specifically for them and yet its all I ever see for freebie of the day here. What happened to a little variety?

I keep thinking that I'm not going to collect any more but then I see a new one and I get sucked in again but I have to say in my defense that I have deleted some earlier ones that I know I will never use.

Most definately, I collect them. I have used them by spelling a name with each letter being from a different alpha. The kids love it!
I love all the ones I have collected. I probably have more than I'll ever use, but I like to have choices when I need one.

I admit I am addicted to the Alpha's and have a collection of over 1500. I know I will never use them, but just enjoy collecting them. You never know what will come along and you need that special font, so all my collection is for "Just in case"....lol Hugs Jerri

Collecting alphabets is sort of a hobby. I know people who collect salt and pepper shakers. They are never going to use all of them, but they keep buying them. I collect alphabets. They take up less room in the house and are free.

Bev, you speak out of my heart!

I don't collect any of them either, and I think I waste so much time in front of my computer chasing freebies, I don't have any time left to do my embroidery.....
