Completed the placemats this morning, My sis in-laws birthday is on the 20th of October, I sure hope she likes them. :)
I hope this works first attempt since the upgrade... fingers crossed...

Where did you get the horses?
Bottom three I got them from Embroidery Design they were on sale for $4.00 the blond top horse from the China site free ( I like the other three the best )

Thanks :) I picked them out with her in mind last year, I wasn't sure on the pattern but I like the colors, she likes maroon and the browns all have maroon in it from very light to dark... hugs :)

It is stunning. I can't say how much I like your pattern. If not to much of a problem what is the size of center square when finished with cornors and what is the side strip's size. I would like to make my grandaughter this for Christmas. She just graduated high and has her own place. Very independent like her nana.

You're in luck, I wrote down the measurements when I finally got it right...LOL
center square is 5.5 inches
the triangles are cut from a 8.75 inch square ( you need to trim it down when they are attached, I had trouble getting it the exact size but trimming it makes it perfect )
all the trims around and the piano key strips are 1.5 inches
when making the piano keys I sew the strips together and cut them into 3 inch wide strips (these are the sides of the placemat)
mat measures about 12.5x18.5 inches when complete
I hope this is straight forward if you have any questions send me a PM. Enjoy :)

Your color choices with the horses and fabric are just spectacular! And I enlarged the photo, your quilting is so good, nice straight lines. I think you've done a fine job making up this pattern from scratch, and the designs are just beautiful. Well done!!! Hugs, Marji
