I would like to make the stuffed animals and towel toppers. I am confused as to what fabric to use. I have regular poly fleece or wool felt. I have never heard of nor found a wool fleece. I would prefer fleece over felt because felt gets so dirty, however the fleece is stretchy. I also have fake fur which is poly. I also have polar fleece, however it is too thick. And lastly I would like to use something that I can needle felt on. Thanks for you help.

So today I needle felted with wool felt 65/35 and it was fun! I will post a pic as soon as I have it trimmed and stuffed. I am still not sure what to try next. I found a half and half polar fleece/wool backing and wow it was expensive!

I say try what you want and if it don't work so what...there are not fabric police around so my friend go for what you like. This is how I get some of my projects done. People say you are not suppose to use this or that but how do you know unless you try. I only listen when something goes into stove or microwave, that could be dangerous not to listen. Have lots of fun and let us see what you have finished.

I don't know what I'd use exactly, but I don't think wool would be it. For the stuffed animals, some kids may be allergic to wool, I know I am. My poor Mom had made me a lovely pink baby sweater, and I ended up with all kinds of rashes, etc from the wool. I still have the sweater in a box in my closet, by the way, hee hee hee. And wool isn't too washer friendly, for the towel toppers. Unless they would be only for "show". I think terry, or the thinner polar fleece would work better, personally. Needle felting is so neat and wonderful, but maybe do that on a garment that won't have to be washed in warm water. And wool is way expensive, too. Good luck with your projects, hugs, Marji
