Scottie and I went on an expedition today to find two fabric shops. The first was Economy Fabrics (near Chesterfield) which was a hotch potch of rolls of an amazing variety of cheap fabric. The second was Heaths Country Store (near Ollerton) an absolute paradise of high quality knitting yarns and cotton fabrics. (A fat quarter at the latter was almost twice the price of a whole metre at the former!) Needless to say we came home with a representative selection from both and lots of ideas. We had a great time and made friends in each shop - we will be returning I'm sure. Heaths had lots of sayings incorporated into their quilts including the one below which Steve was happy for me to make into an ME design.

Such is life - that you never know where the next surprise will be waiting for you - even in a quilt store. Lovely words.

This saying is true for me. My son in law just had surgery for a tumor in his head and ( Avery and I,haha) sewed the whole time.
