i used white scrapes ,then threw some threads on it then covered with thin wws ,sewed design , last row i covered all with plastic easy right???

Very cool. What are you using to top these? If plastic, and there are no needle holes in the plastic, I think they'd be great to put under vases or other plants in the house. Seems I always end up using placemats as coasters are too small. But plastic would preclude them as potholders. Even if it was on the backside, it would be slippery or melt. I'd use them in the bathroom to set tolietries on the counter top. There are makeup trays, but they are too bulky for small counters. They'd be easy to through in the wash too.

I have made appliques with the thread under organza and my grandkids love it. I make zoo animals and they have all the colors of thread under the clear or light colored organza.
