Colored my hair to darken it a bit a few days ago, and I've got Auburn hair now. Found out if you have brown hair, or even dark blonde a "golden" will pull out the red undertones in your hair. Humm I thought golden would be lighter or maybe even a blonde undertone, but RED?!?! Not doing that again! I don't like it!!! Sounds like I need to buy a neutral or ash color next time.

ash will give you the blonde highlights you desire. Golden given you reddish highlights. Must still be pretty though Suzanne

Gosh, I just did my hair and practically turned black instead of brown! I called Clairol and they said to go to a salon to get it fixed. Funny, she said it was a permanent color, but the box said it would last 8 weeks. So I'll wait 7 more weeks and see..

Me Too! However my dirty blonde hair will not hold the red for long.
