ok this question is for anyone who has replaced their machine feet. My embroidery foot is plastic & I have broken another one I have a janome 11000 SE my question is: Is there a metal one out there that is like a universal one that I can use instead? Has anyone tried this before? It is pretty much the same as my 10001 & I broke it twice

I was wondering the same thing ,I have broken one foot ,metal would be a much better choice.I have an 11000 and 350E

I will have to ttt with this sew the weekenders may be able to assist us.
I love the term "weekenders." I never even considered the concept that more people would be looked for help on the weekend, and I am less likely to be checking the forum on the weekend.

Mines on it's last legs as well but I can't find a replacement ( plastic or metal) in an on-line store, even a Janome dealer's, so I hope it lasts until I can. I don't suppose anyone's tried embroidering without this foot??? Jan

well as a matter of fact I did finish embroidering the scarecrow towel that I was doing as it broke right in the middle of the design. The whole half circle broke off & I could see filing it down because the threads might catch. It did finish the design just fine

I googled ---Janome embroidery feet--- and among the entries looked at this site and page. The darning foot, right above the embroidery foot, looks like the embroidery feet my Brother and Babylock machines use. Why not contact some of these sites and see if that can be used? It's metal.

I had a look on this site, Joy, The embroidery foot (P) is what I need, just the plastic foot not the darning foot. I've taken the number if it's the part number so will know what to ask for now. Jan

Check E-Bay...I have purchased several generic metal feet for my Janome...also Baby Lock. In my searches a lot of the feet being sold are generic and will fit several machines...I know that my snap on Janome feet fit the Baby Lock as well...

I am hoping that maybe a weekender may be able to help out with this but in the meantime DH has gone off to buy another one!

I broke one and finished the design with the free-motion foot. However you have to be careful using that foot as it can hit the hoop if the design goes all the way to the edge of the field. I bought 2 replacement (P) feet to have an extra just in case I break another one. I've never seen a metal one but haven't looked. Did you try Clotilde? They cary several types of generic feet.

I have ordered feet off of ebay and also bobbin cases. Now I have learned that I aways keep both the embroidery foot for my Janome and also and extra bobbin case on hand. I hope you have good luck in finding one, Hugs, Mary

Amazon does carry them. I got a few extras from my dealer. At least for me, they usually break when I haven't snipped a jump stitch in time. The stress breaks my foot. I guess I am happier for this than for my machine to lock up, but the best situation would be for me to be on top of my jump stitches.
By the way, for the most part, this only happens when I've duplicated a design and do two or three in a larger hoop, so the error is mostly mine as I haven't mastered Embird Editor yet.
