service count is how many stitches it has done since the last time it was serviced. total count is how many stitches the machine has done in it's life.

I thought sevice count meant that is how many stitches it had on it at the last time of service. and total stitch count meant exactly what you said-Toogie

I have a Brother Pacesetter machine, but have never known where to look for the total stitchcount. I bought it new, but have wondered how many stitches I have put on it?? Care to tell me how to locate this info? Thanks,
Angel

She showed a photo and it looks like on the end of the machine, that has the on/off switch. How old is this machine? What can it do? I need to pm you.

I don't know if this help or not... but I put over 4,000,000 stitches on my machine when we were doing the quilts for Uganda. So.. for me at least, that is not too many stitches - LOL.

I am really impressed so far with my refurbished SE400 and it only costs $400. It just has 4x4 hoop though.

Thanks for your input. I was trying to do the math, altho I don't have but a 4x4 myself. I have seen some of the larger designs 25,000 sts on up. It really wouldn't take long to have 3,000,000 on a machine, would it?

When you take the average speed at 500 st per minute you would have 30,000 st per hour - which would mean it has been used some 120 hrs which is not very much, is it.

Thanks Mops, that was what I was thinking, but she has sold it. I missed this one.
