Looking good. Trimming closer will come as you trust your pattern and know just how close you can go to the tack down stitch. You did a great job here. ;)

My first problem was needing better quality tear away. I am totally ordering the tear away wash away!

So cheerful. I often stitch the tack down stitching twice to make it easier to cut around the stitching line. I find it gives a bit more stability and strength when cutting.

This one has the Heat resistant batting and 1 layer of cotton. I am going to add another layer of cotton. This time I remembered the cotton thread! Yeah!
