Granddaughter, Vivian's Thanksgiving Onsie. I took both sides apart to do this one - since there is an applique. It helped a lot - but, I still felt like I was fighting with the onsie. Do you know what I mean? Thanks for taking a peek! Laura

The onsies are a handful in size so does make them a battle at times, but you did a great job on this. I bet more than one or two have fought a onsie one way or another.

It's great! I'm glad that you won. Everytime I hear my daughter say, "Mom, would you embroidery ____ on a onsie?" I whine a little. They are tedious but then so rewarding. So attractive!

Laura this is adorable!!! I've never opened the seams on onesies before. Yikes... I do so many of them that I find them not hard to do. But I will say I remember when I first started out doing them. Then dd showed me the "turn it inside out" way. I also don't hoop them but use spray and pins. :) love this. Did you merge the design? Or was that the whole seeing (minus the name) ;)

Terre, I also use the "turn inside out" method with short sleeved onsies - but, long sleeved ones seem to make that harder - plus, there is a lot of "stuff" on this one. I needed a lot of room. I merged the entire design, I don't hoop them either - but I need to use spray!! Thanks, Laura*
Hummm Laura, I just might try opening the seams. Does it take you longer to do it this way....
It doesn't take long to open the seams - and I use a nice "serger-look" stitch to sew them back up. I think I save a little time "fighting" with the onsie!

Hi Laura, it's gorgeous. I must admit I always undo baby suits and do my embroideries that way too. I have, however, on occasions turned the onesie upside down and then just rotated the design to face the correct way. That way you aren't fighting all the length. Love and blessings Chris.

Each one that I have worked with have side seams - but, I would imagine there are some out there that don't. They are just so small and then to get the design on them without having material in the way is what I call a onsie fight!! Hugs, Laura*

I did. It only takes a minutes or two and it makes the whole project a little easier!
