The bottom one sort of looks like it has wings on top behind where his head would be.

My thoughts are the one with the words are more for the church with a sun type halo meaning to me, "He is risen" on top of the cross and the other one is what I like as it looks like it is uplifting as in angel wings and more delicate. So for the church I would choose the one with "He Lives".

I like the first one best. When viewed from a distance the outline and thus the shape of the cross does not get lost in the decoration as it has a different colour. Unlike viewing it close-up, here I think the greater the contrast between cross and decoration the better.

Whichever one you choose, I would change the font to something more in keeping with the design. The current font appears to be too heavy for the delicacy of the designs. Both are beautiful.

I love both crosses and I also agree that font is not complementing the cross.I don't know your choices in your software.. Bernina has one called Castle that I have used for Bible verses; however the upper case H is not very pretty. If you tell me how big and what format, I will make it for you. Kay
