I may be posting this in the wrong section, but here goes.

I am new to embroidery and would love to try an ITH project like Martine's beautiful Butterfly Glasses Hoop.

Could someone please publish instructions for someone who has not attempted a project like this? I get lost when the instructions start talking about placing fabric on the back and then trimming the "top". thanks so much

Welcome to Cute - ask as many questions as you like!
Martine's instructions are better than you would find on many sites where the designs are for sale. Take the project step by step and you will be fine. When she says "on the back" she means beneath the hoop. "On the top" is above the hoop.
Some of my designs in DBC have step by step instructions in pictures if that helps.

BTW it is not a good idea to publish your email address in a question - it could get harvested by the spammers!

You have your answer already. Also www.emblibrary.com is a good resource for instructions on different techniques.
Welcome you to Cute.

My suggestion for your project is to purchase a good quality "temorary spray adhesive". Welcome as a new embroiderer and good luck.
