Hi to Monika and everyone else who was interested in seeing the bodice from SONIA SHOWALTER'S DESIGN.
I am thrilled to pieces with it. I am just about to go and collect Jasana from pre-school at 3.00pm and it's 2.45pm now. I won't be back home till about 6.00pm. I will take it with me and measure it against her and see how it fits. As I said in the earlier post by Aussiequilter Jasana is 5 and a half and this front of the bodice is made in the 5x7 hoop. If it doesn't fit I have the other 2 girls to try it on. Love and blessings Chris
P.S. Thanks Sonia for such a great design and such easy instructions.
I see there are several questions concerning size. This bodice fits my 5 1/2 yr. old granddaughter ( she wears size 6) who is also one of my models. The bodice is supposed to be cut inward from the edges of the shoulder. This was my version of the pillowcase dress so it is not supposed to fit all the way out to the tips of the shoulders. That's the only thing I can think of when it was mentioned that it barely fit a 3 yr. old. I hope this clears it up a bit.
Also, the satin stitches should be very secure. If they came off the edge, it may be that the hooping wasn't taut enough. I have never had this happen and believe me, I have made at least a dozen bodices. The instructions recommend the tacky, vilene type of water soluble hooped drum taut.
My two granddaughters have many of these dresses and they wear them a lot. They have been through many, many washes and still look great.
I hope this helps and I'm glad you like it!

I don't think I'd attempt the enlarging as the stitches would not fit right in my opinion.
I am going to try the one with the scalloped edges - just as soon as I can finish canning tomatoes. Wish I had had this many during the summer. :)
