Hi Ladies,
I see there are several questions concerning size. This bodice fits my 5 1/2 yr. old granddaughter ( she wears size 6) who is also one of my models. The bodice is supposed to be cut inward from the edges of the shoulder. This was my version of the pillowcase dress so it is not supposed to fit all the way out to the tips of the shoulders. That's the only thing I can think of when it was mentioned that it barely fit a 3 yr. old. I hope this clears it up a bit.
Also, the satin stitches should be very secure. If they came off the edge, it may be that the hooping wasn't taut enough. I have never had this happen and believe me, I have made at least a dozen bodices. The instructions recommend the tacky, vilene type of water soluble hooped drum taut.

My two granddaughters have many of these dresses and they wear them a lot. They have been through many, many washes and still look great.

Thanks so much Sonia, I have just resewn the edges with a satin stitch. I will wait for another size if you do one for our eldest grand-daughter. She is much too wide across the chest for the size I bought. Love all the things you make on your site. Love and blessings Chris

Thank you so much Chris! I have so many ideas my hands just can't keep up, but I do want to make larger ones. I chose the 5x7 hoop because as the hoops get bigger, fewer and fewer people are able to use the design. That's when I get a lot of questions about making them smaller. :)

I'm hoping that Sonia will be making them a big bigger in the future. I can see this dress on up to 7-8 year olds. Love Chris

I don't think I'd attempt the enlarging as the stitches would not fit right in my opinion.

Thanks for your input...I contacted Sonia and she indicated that she will be making a larger version of the bodice...but can't confirm when she will have it available...still very intersted on how this version fits your 3 year old gd...Thanks again...

So cute...please let us know how the second try on the front bodice works out...a little disconcerting that ironing would cause the stitches to separate from the fabric...
