So much interest in the bodices by Sonia Showalter...Chris (pennifold) has shared hers with us...but comments it is too small for her oldest granddaughter...I contacted Sonia and asked if she would consider making a bigger one. Much to my delight, she replied that she most certainly will, but doesn't know when she will be able have it available...but, there is hope! I am hoping that with all the interest here on the Cute site, it might motivate her make it happen sooner than later...Just hoping!

I thought she would be agreeable to making a larger template. Glad to see it will happen one of these days.

The dress bodice is so beautiful and will work for many special occasions. So glad she is willing to make a larger size. Do you think she would be able to do a split design for those of us that only has a 5X7 hoop?

Wow, don't know...not sure how it would be split as the bodice is one piece of fabric. Perhaps if it was the cross over bodice she might be able to make each cross over piece separately (?) but I guess only time will tell...

That will be great. I love her work. For the bodice I am going to get the scalloped one. I can already picture my grand-daughters in it. Thank you for contacting her for us.

She ( Sonia) is a very gracious, generous and thoughtful person ... I'm pretty sure she gets more comments/interests from other venues than from here. I am sure she will do what she can when she can ....

I had a lovely email from Sonia today and I've explained that I had to make the armhole facings bigger for our grand-daughter Ophelie and I cut out the size 3 originally. It was just too small for her. Ophelie is a bit thicker across the chest than Aqualina. Anyway, I've stuffed up when ironing the top and the stitches have come apart from the sides top right and lower left, luckily I have enough fabric to make another front. Oh! well I'm glad I have a lot of patience and a good quick-un-picker! Once I've remade the front bodice I'll do something about the bottom with a frill, or a band of contrasting colour or something else. Love and blessings Chris

This is a beautiful dress. I would love to make the larger size for a Christmas Dress.

Oooo...Chris, I am surprised that ironing made the stitches on the right side of the bodice fray from the fabric...let us know how the second one goes...that is a little disconcerting...

I was wondering if I purchased the smaller one if I could enlarge it to the 6x10 with my singer software. I have enlarged several other designs and think I could because it adjusts the stitches. I guess I am just so impatient. Just a thought though since I don't have the design nor have I ask her permission if I could. I just love the dress and my GGD is very small but would need a larger size then a 3.

Sonia commented in another post that she did not recommend resizing...although if you had the design pattern you could probably experiment for your own purposes...
