Help...I'm looking for a machine that can cut felt into shapes I want....what kind of machine does this and does it have a program for designing your own shapes or do you just have to use their dye cut shapes

you are looking for a laser cutter they are very expensive here is one on the lower end of the budget it also engraves. I have been checking them out myself for the same reason, I have a silhouette which is a razor cutter it is an older model but others say the newer ones cameo model can cut fabric like felt and such

Have you looked at scrapbooking cutting machines. If you want basic shapes, cuttlebug and spellbinder dies, but you are limited by the dies available. cricut (and probably others) have machines that use computer files to cut and they can cut felt also.

I have a cricut and I'm just learning to use it. I have a software program called Sure Cuts a Lot 2. They have updated the program to 3, but version 3 will no longer work with the cricut. I can use the software to download files other people have created as well as make my own. In theory I think you can even import vector files. My only concern is that the mats are relatively sticky. I could see felt "unsticking" the mats pretty quickly.
I also just bot a Big Shot. Apparently you can use just about any die in it to cut pretty much anything. Fiscars also has a pretty new machine (and pricey) but it will also cut darn near everything. You also have the accuquilt option - which I know NOTHING about but is designed for fabric so I'm sure it would work!

I want a silhouette machine. So please let us know what you decide. Thanks. Also I believe Skeldale house and others may digitize to Accuquilt, so I would check them out also.

Oh my gosh! Does she ever! It appears that she and/or another gal is designing dies that will knock your socks off! I'm still drooling over her work.
