A 10 year old girl-(Olivia) that I was babysitting wanted to make a pin cushion. So I used mops design. She wants to learn to sew too. She loves coming here @ our house.

We had done another but had to do it on heavier fabric because of a blowout near the edge. Material on the first was very thin. 2nd one I used a duck/canvas type cloth. :)

Yes I don't like that Home Ec class isn't offered much anymore in high school.
I took Home Ec many years ago and learned to sew on a Singer Treadle machine. I loved my teacher and thank her to this day for all she taught me. Please encourage this sweet child to continue learning and I'm so happy you are teaching her!!
