hi there fellow cuties I hope that this isn't a stupid question but when you are downloading a freebie how do you get the thread or color chart or pdf that goes with it?

Unless the color chart is in the zip file, there isn't one. Sometimes in the zip file, the color chart is either a pdf file or a jpg file. So I open both of them to see if they have a color chart there. If not, and if I really love the color choices of the digitizer, and if those colors are changed in my software so they are different, I will copy a picture of the design from the website and save it. It won't give you the thread manufacturer or thread number, but you'll have the picture with the correct colors to guide you.

I just copy and paste the thread charts (like the ones in Cute or DBC) into a word document and save it...I get the picture and the color chart as a word file...I like what Odat1976 said below about saving as a pdf...but I can't fugure out where in my printer print screen it will allow me to save as a pdf...I must be missing something....

is this just for cute or wherever there is a pdf? Thanks for the info.
Well, I tried...but I don't get an Adobe Reader option..the only things that come up in my Print screen relate to my HP printer options...I have Adobe Reader installed on my computer, but it doesn't show as a print option...still confused...
You can also use the "Save As" function under "File." Just highlight what you want to save, click on "File/Save" As give it any name you want, at the top put what folder you want to save it in, and click on "Save." It will save it as a .mht file. I save all my projects, or directions that come with photos as .mht files. You can save an entire page(s). If they are large, they may take a few seconds to open. Just go to the folder and click on the file you saved and it will open up. If you have Adobe Reader on your computer, just click on the .pdf file and it should open automatically.
One thing to keep in mind is that as you start saving photos, pdf files, mht files, whatever, you need a lot of memory on your computer to store stuff. It takes up a lot of space.
