This is a great idea. You could use brown paper bag or newspaper for the wrapping paper,however, I would only use the washers to give.I like all the old hardware myself, so I couldn't give it away, unless I wrapped for my husband.It is amazing what people come up with, thanks for showing us-T

When you said brown paper I immediately though corrugated cardboard. You must be happy to have your computer working again.
